PrestaShop statistics: how they count, and why they stop working
PrestaShop keeps its statistics in two places: the Dashboard for sales, orders, visits and conversion, and Sell › Stats for detailed reports. When they show zero or too little, the cause is almost always an order status that does not count, visit recording that is switched off, or a report PrestaShop removed in version 1.7.8.
Where to find statistics in PrestaShop
The Dashboard is the first item in the back-office menu, and the Stats page sits under Sell › Stats. Both have been in the same place since 1.7.8, so the paths below work on 1.7.8, 8 and 9.

What the PrestaShop Dashboard shows, and how it counts
The Dashboard counts sales without tax and shipping, dates each order by its invoice, and counts visits rather than visitors. That is why it rarely matches the Orders list or Google Analytics.
The six numbers at the top of the Dashboard, from the dashtrends module's code.
Sales

The other Dashboard blocks and what each needs to show real numbers.
Dashboard blocks
- What it shows
- Visitors online in the last 30 minutes, active and abandoned carts, pending orders, returns, out-of-stock products, new customers and a traffic-source chart
- What it shows
- Monthly goals for traffic, conversion and average cart value, and whether each month met them
- What it shows
- Recent orders, best sellers, most viewed products and top searches
- Demo mode, a switch at the top of the Dashboard, fills every block with random numbers. If the figures look implausible, check it first.
- The date range is saved for each back-office user. A preset such as Month rolls forward on its own; a custom range stays on the dates you picked.
The Stats pages and what each one reports
Sell › Stats opens on the Stats Dashboard and lists every other report in a sidebar. Each report is a separate module, so a page missing from the sidebar is usually a module that is uninstalled or disabled.

Sales and customers
- What it shows
- Visits, registrations, orders and revenue by day, week or month, a conversion funnel, and sales by payment, category, language, zone and currency
- What it shows
- Orders placed, products bought, a sales chart and the share of orders in each status
- What it shows
- Each customer's visits, valid orders and money spent
- What it shows
- Accounts created, visitors who stopped at registration, buyers who ordered right after registering
- What it shows
- Customers by gender, age, country, currency and language
- What it shows
- Each voucher's sales and times used
- What it shows
- Orders by carrier, filtered by status
- What it shows
- Newsletter sign-ups from customers and from visitors
Products and catalogue
- What it shows
- Quantity sold, sales, sales per day, page views and stock for each product
- What it shows
- Quantity sold, sales, margin and views for each category
- What it shows
- One product's sales, views, conversion rate, sales by combination and products bought with it
- What it shows
- Products available, average price, products viewed and bought, products never viewed or bought
- What it shows
- Quantity sold and sales by brand
- What it shows
- Quantity sold and sales by supplier
- What it shows
- Stock quantity and value for each product
- What it shows
- A good, average or bad rating for each product's descriptions, images, sales and stock
Search and errors
- What it shows
- What visitors searched for in your shop and how many results they got
- What it shows
- Addresses that returned a 404, with the page that linked to them
- Visit recording means the Data mining for statistics module is enabled. It records visits on its own; the two page-view settings in its Configure page are off on a new install.
- Shop search leaves out keywords searched only once, so a quiet shop's list can look empty.
What PrestaShop removed, and when
PrestaShop removed its traffic reports in 1.7.8.0 and the Referrers page in 8.0, and closed its PrestaShop Metrics service on 1 January 2026. None of them has a free replacement in PrestaShop yet.

PrestaShop stats not working: causes and fixes
When PrestaShop statistics show zero or too little, find the symptom below. Sales problems come from order statuses, traffic problems from the Data mining for statistics module.

Which order statuses count in PrestaShop statistics
An order counts in the Dashboard only when its current status is marked as validated and the order has an invoice. Of PrestaShop's default statuses, five count and eight do not.

An example, not real data. A bank wire order counts on the day the payment arrives and the order gets its invoice, so days shift and the last orders of the week are not counted yet: 92 placed, 83 counted.
Why PrestaShop visits don't match Google Analytics
PrestaShop records visits on the server and GA4 records them in the browser. So PrestaShop also counts people with ad blockers, and many bots that GA4 filters out.

Use PrestaShop for orders and GA4 for traffic. If GA4 seems to miss orders, the GA4 on PrestaShop guide shows how to find which ones.
ManteIQ reads orders from PrestaShop and traffic from GA4, and puts both in one morning briefing.
Try it freePrestaShop statistics tables and database size
Visit recording writes rows on every visit and PrestaShop's auto-clean empties only one of those tables, and only if you turn it on. On a busy shop the rest grow for years.

Questions about PrestaShop statistics
- Where are the statistics in PrestaShop?
- In the back office, the Dashboard shows sales, orders, visits and conversion, and Sell › Stats has the detailed reports. The paths are the same in PrestaShop 1.7.8, 8 and 9.
- Why do PrestaShop statistics show zero sales?
- The Dashboard counts an order only when its status is marked as validated and it has an invoice. Orders waiting for bank wire, check or cash-on-delivery payment do not count until you move them to Payment accepted.
- Why are PrestaShop visits zero?
- Visits are recorded by the Data mining for statistics module. If it is disabled or unhooked, often after an upgrade, visits stay at zero. Enable or reset it in the Module Manager and check its hook in Design › Positions.
- Where did Visitors origin and Visitors online go?
- PrestaShop removed them in version 1.7.8.0, together with Browsers and operating systems and Search engine keywords. Referrers followed in 8.0. Use GA4 for traffic sources today.
- Why are PrestaShop visits higher than GA4?
- PrestaShop records visits on the server, so ad blockers cannot stop it, and its bot filter recognises only a few crawlers. Bing, Ahrefs, Semrush and AI crawlers all count as visitors.
- Is PrestaShop Metrics still available?
- No. PrestaShop closed PrestaShop Metrics on 1 January 2026 and says it is working on a new statistics module. It has not named a free alternative.
